Barracuda 945
By Patrick Robinson

Read by David McCallum

The Barracuda 945 is a black Russian nuclear submarine whose secretive purchase is meant to throw off American intelligence. All those involved fear America discovering their terrorist plans. Their targets are on the West Coast of the U.S., a supposedly unmonitored naval path.

These modern day enemies band with former American enemies and a former SAS commando named Ray Kerman, all wanting to hit "The Great Satan" where it hurts - its security and its economy. Plausible or not, this plot certainly makes for an interesting military thriller. National Security Adviser Arnold Morgan's latest adventure will have readers spellbound as the black submarine carries its fatal cargo and evil crew through the deep dark sea to their target.

Robinson's thriller is quite current, using actual American enemies in the story line, along with two of our most recent Presidents, Clinton and Bush. In fact, the narrator's political opinion concerning how this fictional version of America got into such a vulnerable state resonates with familiarity. (Former President Clinton may not want to pick this one up.)

Actor David McCallum (made famous on The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) reads the audio book version of Barracuda 945. McCallum approaches the storyline and dialogue in a mellow, dramatic tone. There are times, as the terrorists' evil plans play out, that McCallum announces the results in an ominous, chilling tone. It's enough to make the skin crawl, it's that good.
