To
The Nines
Stephanie Plum Series, No. 9
By Janet
Evanovich
As
a true Evanovich fan, I had to pre-order this one and then wait
impatiently. To the Nines was worth the wait.
Bounty
hunter Stephanie Plum is after an Indian contract worker named Singh
who disappeared when his visa was up, and Cousin Vinnie held the
bail bond. Stephanie and former "ho," Lula, track him
to Las Vegas and manage to get involved with both Elvis and Tom
Jones impersonators.
Evanovich
novels have a bit of everything; murder, mayhem, gut-wrenching suspense,
laugh out loud humor and a bit of romance...and this one is no exception.
Joe Morelli and Ranger, the sexy men in Stephanie's life supply
romantic moments, and Grandma Mazur supplies laughs, though I was
slightly disappointed that she didn't have a bigger part in this
story.
Stephanie's
sister, Valerie, is about to give birth, and her bumbling boyfriend,
the attorney without any clients, is ever helpful. Morelli's grandmother
has a number of gruesome visions of Stephanie's death, and she's
noted for accurate visions.
Evanovich's
novels are each progressively funnier, sexier and smarter than the
one before. While her plots don't vary much, they are still always
fresh and keep me reading all night. The characters are unforgettable,
and I always look forward to each character's escapades in the next
story. Janet's website promises a number ten. I will be watching
for it. Impatiently, of course.
