The Big Bad Wolf
An Alex Cross Mystery
By James Patterson

Alex Cross has joined the FBI and is peacefully undergoing the standard training at Quantico, Virginia, when he is assigned to his first case. Women of wealth and beauty are being kidnapped all across the country. There are no known witnesses and no ransom demands. The bodies of some of the victims were found. Alex suspects these kidnappings were actually the result of women being profiled, snatched, sold as sex slaves, then killed.

Alex, who has a doctorate in criminal behavior, is called in when the wife of a federal judge is the next victim. Because he is still in training, some of the older agents resent his inclusion in such a high-profile case. The fact that he is working late again doesn't set well at home either. But when Alex's investigation leads him to a shadowy figure known as the Wolf and the Wolf shoots up Alex's home, the race to find this Russian mob boss is on.

The Big Bad Wolf is the best James Patterson thriller yet, with more twists and turns than a mountain road. The audio cassette version is beautifully performed by actors Peter Jay Fernandez and Dennis O'Hare. The shocking end is totally unexpected and left me staring at the tape player in disbelief. Clear about eight hours of listening time and settle in for a book you won't soon forget.
