The Body of David Hayes
A Lou Boldt series
By Ridley Pearson

At a moment when her defenses were at their lowest level after a bout with cancer and chemotherapy, Liz Boldt had a brief affair with her coworker, David Hayes, a computer technician whiz. Hayes orchestrated a million dollar embezzlement scam at the bank and was imprisoned for it.

Upon his release from prison David seeks to retrieve his hidden loot. This was money he stole from the Russian mob headed by Svengrad, known as "The Sturgeon." David's life depends on his returning the money. To access the bank's computer system before the forthcoming merger, David must force Liz, who is one of the only ones in the bank with the passwords, to cooperate with him. He must return the money to the Russian mob or face serious consequences.

Liz is torn between loyalty to the bank and fear of harm to her family. Lou Boldt, her husband, devastated by the revelation of her infidelity, must decide between protecting her from blackmail and his duty as a policeman to find the missing money.

A gripping story with a complex and intricate plot, this gives an intense picture of the pain of betrayal, as Liz and Lou struggle to resolve their problems and save their marriage. The story is fast-paced, featuring well-developed characters wotj conflicting priorities.
