Cat Fear No Evil
A Joe Grey mystery
By Shirley Rousseau Murphy

There are a series of robberies in the town of Molena Point, California: a hundred thousand dollar painting, a diamond chocker worth over a million dollars, and a vintage Packard roadster in prime condition. There is no sign of forced entry, no trace of the stolen items.

At an exhibition of artist Charles Harper, one of the waiters drops dead at Charlie’s feet. When Kate, Clyde Damen's friend, is stalked and then robbed, Clyde enlists the aid of tomcat Joe Grey, feline detective extraordinaire, to solve the mysteries. With the aid of Dulcie, Joe Grey begins to sniff out the truth. He suspects that his nemesis, the evil black cat Azrael, is in league with the slick cat burglars. Together, Joe Grey, Dulcie and their friend, Kit, attempt to restore the tranquility of the once-quiet town.

This is another feline mystery which will capture the imagination and hearts of fans of Lillian Jackson Braun and Rita Mae Brown. The plot is intricate and absorbing, with three delightful feline detectives: Joe Grey, a witty character. Dulcie, his adorable companion; and Kit, their tattercoat friend, who can talk to and be understood by humans. There is a close relationship between the lively human characters and their talking cats. The humans can confide their problems to these cats, who provide much interest in crime-solving. All cat fanciers will enjoy and understand the interplay between the humans and their feline companions.
