Dust Jacket
By Derek Hart

Life seems sweet for rare book dealer and Gulf War veteran Connor MacLean. He has a wonderful bookstore and a beautiful assistant Elena, whom he loves. But when he attends an estate sale and finds himself the owner of a treasure map, he suddenly discovers that life is also going to get very exciting. With his irascible father and redoubtable grandfather in tow, he has to find the treasure before the Neo-Nazis do and battle his ex-wife, her murderous partner and various assorted villains.

Most of Derek Hart’s adventure novels have been reviewed on this site now and here is another helping of military derring-do. He has the enviable faculty of packing quite a lot of story into not very many pages, and even though this story takes its time getting started, it fairly flies along once it is up and running. As I have said previously, if you like the sort of “old fashioned” espionage fiction that made the genre so popular and are wondering when the next James Bond film is going to hit the cinema, then you ought to lap this up. There is nothing new here, but that never stood in the way yet of a good yarn.
