Honolulu Play-Off
Alan Saxon story
By Keith Mills

Alan Saxon, golf course designer and touring pro golfer, is persuaded to fly to Honolulu to be the best man at the wedding of Donald Dukelow, a close friend and golf rival. For undisclosed reasons Dukelow wants to keep his forthcoming marriage to lovely Zann, Hawaiian beauty and member of a wealthy and powerful Hawaian family, a secret. The wedding party also includes Dukelow's interfering mother who opposes the marriage, and Dukelow's ex-wife, Heidi, who acts as his mother's companion.

Someone else doesn't want the wedding to take place, and murders to prevent it. As Dukelow's friend and possible bodyguard, Saxon finds himself a key witness to the murder and becomes a possible suspect.

With his life in jeopardy, Saxon must determine who is behind the murder and the attempts on his life if he wishes to leave Honolulu alive.

This is a fast moving story with the background of Honolulu and its history woven into the conflicting stories of the characters, many of who are suspects. The sport of golf is featured prominently in the story.

An enjoyable read with no explicit violence, no explicit sex, and no "adult" language.

Miles writes historical mysteries as Edward Marston.
