London Bridges
Alex Cross
Novel
By James Patterson
Alex
Cross is back in his tenth adventure and this time the criminal
that he faces is deadlier than ever. Alex is enjoying himself with
his girlfriend, Jamilla, when he is whisked away by two FBI agents
who claim there is an emergency and Dr. Cross must come at once.
It turns out that in the desert, a platoon of soldiers evacuated
the entire population of Sunrise Valley, Nevada and then blew the
place up. Nothing is left. A criminal named The Wolf claims the
destruction as his doing and now Alex must try to stop him from
doing what he is threatening next - to blow up London, Paris, and
New York. The Wolf has shown that he is able to destroy a whole
town and everyone is terrified to think what might happen next.
Then, on top of all that is going on, Alex finds out who The Wolf's
partner in crime is - The Weasel, Alex's past nemesis. Everything
is life or death now and it is up to Alex Cross to save the day.
"London
Bridges" is a fast-paced thriller because of its short chapters
and simple writing. I love Alex Cross but could not find myself
able to get into this book, possibly because of the overwhelming
terrorist aspect. Perhaps the subject matter hit too close to home
but I also missed seeing Alex's private life, which was in short
supply. I did like seeing The Weasel again. I will read the next
book in the series because usually Patterson is an author I devour.
