Metro Girl
By Janet Evanovich
Read by C.J. Critt

Evanovich's newest female sleuth takes the high road (well, sort of) in this fast-paced, humorous mystery. Barney (Alex) is a mechanic from Baltimore. When an early morning phone call from her brother, Wild Bill, cuts off with the sounds of a revving boat and a woman screaming, Barney heads to Florida. There she finds a ransacked apartment, an irate NASCAR driver in search of his missing Hatteras boat, an old friend who expholeates well, new acquaintances ready to help and others looking to harm, especially "puke face." As Bill's past unravels, old history rises to the surface. The search for Bill has Barney and her new crew thinking fast, and running even faster.

Evanovich is the connoisseur of humor, tough broads and sexy counterparts -- she's yet to lose her touch. Wacky characters, witty dialogue and "where's Bill?!" keeps this mystery moving. If "Metro Girl" is the lead-in to a new series, then it's destined to be a hit. Those who like smart women, sexy men, and a bit of sex in their mysteries will have fun with this one. Without a doubt, Evanovich fans will gobble it up.
