Plains Crazy
By J. M. Hayes

Welcome to Benteen County on the plains of Kansas. It's supposed to be quiet out there in a small town. Tell that to Sheriff English and his brother Mad Dog and his pet wolf Hailey. Circumstances beyond their control lead to anything but quiet for them. One is out to enforce the law but is the other out breaking it? Who is the mysterious woman from Mad Dog's past that is hunting him?

Throw in a Cheyenne Indian reality TV show being filmed in their midst, pipe bombs showing up here and there, a bank robbery, murder and terrorists letters and Sheriff English has his hands full. Have Al Qaeda really come to Kansas? "Englishman" as the Sheriff is known to the folks of Benteen County finds he is understaffed and overwhelmed. Not the best time for his wife Judy to decide she is going to live out her dream and take a trip to Paris. She's not planning to take a "no I can't go" from her husband either. Their daughters both named Heather don't take the news very well either when they find out they are the last to know about this trip. How in the world does Judy find herself in the middle of the bank robbery? Surely, "Englishman" is not going to understand this one.

Enjoy this crazy tale in a day in the life of a quiet town. Benteen County has some crazy characters and a fast-paced story line. Mrs. Kraus is the receptionist at the Sheriff's office and is packing a gun. Deputies Parker and Wynne sure do run into some trouble along the way in their quest to help the town and the Sheriff. It's a very entertaining and just a plain crazy read.
