Until The Last Dog Dies
A Joe
Box Mystery
By John Laurence
Robinson
Joe
Box is an enigma. His rough and tumble life as a private detective
is at times at odds with his deep Christian faith. But for the most
part, he is finding out that God can use a street-wise detective
with a faithful heart to fight the kind of battles that others shy
away from. And Joe is all heart.
A
late night phone call from an old Vietnam combat buddy sets off
a series of incidents that lead Joe to believe that one by one,
the men from his platoon are being murdered. Most of the deaths
look like accidents, but Joe remembers a night in ‘Nam when
everyone shared their biggest fears – and each man is dying
in the way they were most afraid of. The problem is, there was no
one else there that night. So who is killing Joe’s buddies?
How does the killer know their deepest fears? And when will he come
for Joe?
Until
The Last Dog Dies combines mystery, inspiration, detective
fiction, and just overall great writing into a battle against good
and evil – God and the devil – to form a story you won’t
soon forget. Joe Box is a character who is funny, inspirational,
flawed, and vulnerable. He quickly becomes someone you care about
– someone you can connect to. John Laurence Robinson’s
story line is gripping, his characters achingly human, and his grasp
of the spiritual battle behind the human one makes his writing deeper
and more meaningful than most books you will ever read.
Until
The Last Dog Dies is a winner. I give it my very highest recommendation.
John Laurence Robinson has made a fan. Whatever you decide to read
this year, don’t miss this one!
