Unwilling
Accomplice
A Munch
Mancini Crime Novel
By Barbara Seranella
Munch
Mancini has been happy with her life lately and is not happy to
hear from her adopted daughter's aunt, Lisa. While Munch was able
to leave the drug life, Lisa was never fully able to. Munch knows
that whatever Lisa wants, it is probably going to get her in trouble.
They arrange a meeting on the pretense of Munch and her daughter,
Asia, seeing Lisa and her two girls. The meeting goes well and Munch
breathes a sigh of relief. Little does Munch know trouble is about
to pop up. The next day, Munch receives a call telling her that
Charlotte is missing. Nobody knows if Charlotte has run away or
if something horrible has befallen the girl. Then Munch uncovers
Charlotte's hoard of stolen goods and gets a mysterious call that
points to Charlotte having been kidnapped. Now, Munch must figure
out where Charlotte is before the girl is killed ... or before Munch
herself gets sucked into the violence.
Unwilling
Accomplice is a wonderful addition to the Munch Mancini series.
With every book, Munch grows as a person, and it is this growth
that makes it so easy to root for everything to work out for her.
The relationship between Asia and Munch is touching and all the
more interesting because of its believability. The story is fast
paced, complex, and filled with moments that make me glad that I
read. Once again, Barbara Seranella is going to be on my list of
favorites for the year.
