Boxer's former partner interrupts a get-together at Suzy's with the Women's Murder Club and a pitcher of margaritas. He has a lead on a Mercedes in the Tenderloin district where the most recent murder took place. Boxer goes with him. The outcome of the stakeout has deadly results. Those still alive when the smoke clears will spend months physically and emotionally scared. Boxer gets herself in some serious legal trouble that puts her in front of a judge and jury. She takes a break and heads to her sister's home. Her only company at first is a potbelly pig that can read minds. She ends up getting involved in some local murders that don't make sense, but yet seem familiar. Life with Lindsay Boxer is never dull. And a suspense novel by Patterson is never boring. Boxer is a perfect lead character - beautiful, strong, smart, and quick with a gun. She loves her job and enjoys her social life with gal pals Claire and Cindy. Even the man in her life is perfect. At some points her character seems over done, but not to the point it distracts from the rollercoaster ride of suspense Patterson and Paetro have put together. The authors give readers a little of everything in this one - courtroom drama, spine-chilling stalkers, startling moments, and blow-by-blow drama. What could be worse than knowing the stalker? Hearing his very thoughts…. It's down right creepy…. The audio book version is read by actress Carolyn McCormick, who is widely known for her role as Dr. Olivit on TV's Law and Order.
