Drive
by James Sallis
Drive is the story of a man who goes by the nickname of "Driver." This novella
is a quick hard look at the life of a man who goes from driving for a living to seeking
a way out of a situation that endangers his life. He spends his days on a movie set doing
stunts for movies and then finds himself driving for criminals at night.
One night the plans go awry, and Driver finds that he'll be doing more than just driving
if he wants to live to see another day. His knowledge of cars and his thirst to keep going
forward in his life provides an interesting look at how a boy goes from watching his mother
commit a murder to possibly becoming a murderer himself. Drive is a short haunting
ride you'll want to take. |
