Drop-Dead
Blonde
By
Nancy Martin, Elaine Viets, Denise Swanson, Victoria Laurie
Four
national best-selling authors each contribute a short mystery for
Drop-Dead Blonde, which contains four mysteries where a main character
in each story, and at times a victim, is blonde. These blondes are
sassy fair-haired women with style, men and money dropping at their
feet. Everyone knows the saying that blondes have more fun, but
these golden-haired sirens have secrets to hide and scores to settle.
In
Slay Belles by Nancy Martin, The Blackbird Sisters work together
to solve a murder mystery related to a personal shopper of a high-end
department store. Killer Blondes by Elaine Viets is a new Dead-End
Job story that throws two blondes together in a “battle of
the blondes” in the corporate world. Dead Blondes Tell No
Tales by Denise Swanson is part of the Scumble River mystery series
where Skye Denison solves a mysterious disappearance and gets involved
in a Marilyn Monroe look-a-like contest. My favorite mystery of
the four was Blind Sighted by Victoria Laurie where professional
psychic Abby Cooper attends a psychic convention in Florida and
ends up solving a murder.
Although
the four mysteries fit nicely together in one book with the “blonde
theme” running throughout each mystery, each author has her
own unique style. These mysteries have a cozy feel with a solid
element of suspense throughout each, along with funny and interesting
characters. Drop-Dead Blonde is a fun, entertaining read that is
highly recommended to mysteries fans. |
