The Hannibal e-Puzzle
A Temper/Rowdy mystery

By Don Eckhardt

Mary Temperance Link called Temper is the daughter of U S Senator Wilson Link. Mysterious e-mails are anonymously sent to the Cyberspace Alliance for Electronic and Encryption Privacy by Hannibal. They warn of a conspiracy which will take over the U S government. The mysterious poems and clues from Hannibal point Temper and Rowdy Marshall, an astronaut, to the Revolutionary War, pointing out how these events changed the course of history.

The election for the Presidency of the U.S. is to take place in a few months. The Electoral College has been compromised by Hannah Gates who plans to defeat President Walker and his opponent, and become the first woman president. She has sinister motives to take control of the government. It is Temper and Rowdy who must understand the clues and derail the terrorists' plot.

We have an intriguing thriller with a strong willed amateur sleuth, Temper, and her sometime love, astronaut, Rowdy Marshall. There is a whirlwind romance between the two while they attempt to meet the challenges of the cryptic puzzles confronting them.

There is a wealth of historical background of the role of the Hudson River Valley in the Revolutionary War, and background on the Indians.

There is an education to be gained in the field of encryptions. There is much explanation and information about this field; perhaps more than the average reader needs or wants to know. I found myself skipping much of this to return to the story.
