Long Time Gone
J. P. Beaumont Mysteries

by J. A. Jance
Read by Tim Jerome

J.A delivers another episode of the J.P. Beaumont series. It begins with a death and a young witness. (Tim Jerome's reading of this scene is chilling.) Years later, Beaumont, an investigator for the special Homicide Investigation team, is handed a very old case. Through hypnotherapy a Nun remembers witnessing a murder. Beaumont has to follow the names and clues to see if the victim and murderers really exist. Beaumont also works a personal case when the ex-wife of his best friend is killed. The nearest suspects are his best friend and the daughter. Beaumont finds a little extra help with both cases and considers a change in his life.

Long Time Gone is narrated in first person by Beaumont. Some of Beaumont's comments are a bit cliché. The novel as a whole is well-written and has plenty of action and suspenseful twists to entertain. The audio book version is read by Tim Jerome. His reading voice adds to Beaumont's personality. Fans will really enjoy this recent addition to the Beaumont series.
