Los
Angeles: A Novel
By
Peter Moore Smith
The
story opens with a phone call from Angel’s neighbor Angela.
She says one word and the connection is lost. From there Angel is
plunged into a nightmare trying to find out what has happened to
the woman he has been falling in love with. As he begins a search
for her, his own life continues in a downward spiral. From his unfinished
manuscript to the fact he lets the movie Blade Runner play over
and over in his apartment makes the reader wonder if Angel doesn't
have his own unsolved problems. Handling Angela’s problems
may not prove to be in his best interest.
As
the son of a famous producer, Angel has unlimited resources available
to aid in his search for Angela. Will Angela’s secrets be
uncovered or will it be his own that are discovered? The search
takes him to places and people he has no business knowing and no
ability to handle.
What
was it that Angela was hiding? Where is she? Has she run off with
an old boyfriend or has harm come to her? Angel cannot let her disappearance
rest. He uncovers truths about her and himself that, in retrospect,
might have been better left alone.
This
is an enthralling book that you will not want to put down.
