Now
You See Her
By
Cecilia Tishy
When
her aunt died, Regina Cutter got more than she bargained for. In
addition to a house, she also inherited her aunt's psychic abilities.
Detective
Frank Devaney, asks "Reggie" to use her abilities to help
him investigate an old crime. Henry, a young black man, was convicted
of killing a white politician's son. Thirteen years later Frank
thinks there may have been a mistake.
When
a rich white woman is murdered, the police focus all of their attention
on finding her killer. Frank no longer has time to look into Henry's
case. Reggie is on her own.
The
deeper she digs, the more Reggie is convinced that there is a connection
between the old murder and the new. She goes to Detective Devaney
with her suspicions. He is very dismissive. The deeper she digs
for evidence, the more treacherous her life becomes.
In
a matchmaking attempt, her eccentric aunt willed shared custody
of her beagle to Reggie and to a biker named Stark. When he shows
up to take the dog for his custodial days, Stark discovers Reggie
hiding in fear.
Stark offers to
help Reggie spy on her prime suspect, knowing full well that it
is a bad idea,
This
story reads as if it were a continuation of a series with references
to previous cases. I would have liked to have had more insight into
Reggie's discovery of her psychic powers. The premise has great
potential. Unfortunately, it is not reached. This book was quite
unfulfilling.
