Showdown
by Ted Dekker
Something is amiss in Paradise. Paradise, Colorado that is, after the appearance of an outrageous
so-called preacher named Reverend Marsuvees Black. He's got nerve, that's for sure, coming into
town and announcing first thing that he has come to Paradise to bring hope and grace to
the town and its lucky inhabitants. Funny, though, how the first person he touches, dies
instantly.
It's clear to even the least savvy citizen that he's got some kind of strange power,
the power of life and death, and it has some discerning citizens frightened out of their
wits. He's turning willing citizens into cult-followers and in no time at all, turning
the town on its ear. Even the local pastor is cowed by this stranger...
Good and evil will have to fight to the death before it's over.
Novelist Ted Dekker has done it again, writing a disturbing and edgy inspirational
thriller that readers won't be able to put down. If this kind of reading is your forte, you
should pick up a copy for your library. It's not exactly pleasure reading, but thought
provoking, it certainly is. |
