Bark M for Murder
Canine Crime Tales from the Best of the Breed!
by J.A. Jance, Virginia Lanier, Chassie West, Lee Charles Kelley
Bark M For Murder is an entertaining read of four short stories involving canines
and their owners. You'll go from bank robbers and poodles to a robbery where a bloodhound
is used to track two murderers. J. A. Jance's story is about an older woman who fancies
herself to be something of a private eye. She sets off with her two dogs to track down
some information on her older sister's new boyfriend. She believes he might be either a
terrorist or after her sister's money, or perhaps both. Maddy puts herself directly into
harm's way without a back up plan or idea about how to get out of it.
My favorite short read in this book was Chassie West's story, "Nightmare in Nowhere."
A woman drags herself from a crashed car with the help of a German shepherd and with no
memory of how she got there or whom she might be. The dog helps bring her to safety, back
to the cop who is taking care of the German shepherd, a search and rescue animal. Together
they have to find out why someone is tracking her and taking shots at them. A.J. can only
remember the initials of her name and nothing of how she came to be in the accident. Will
they find the answers in time? Can they figure out why she's carrying fake identification
and lots of money in her purse? Is she a criminal or a good guy? You'll enjoy these canine
tales of man's best friend. |
