Beyond Suspicion

by James Grippando
Read by Tom Wopat

Jack Swyteck is an honest lawyer and a faithful husband. When an old girlfriend shows up needing a lawyer, Jack takes the case. Jessie Merrill thought she was dying when she accepted over a million dollars from an investment group expecting to cash in on her life insurance. Now she realizes her doctor made a mistake and The Group is suing her. Swyteck is prepared to defend Jessie in court, but when a simple court case turns violent, Jack refuses to lie or die to win. The court case moves quickly, but ends in murder with Jack fighting to hold on to those he values most in life - and this is where the story really takes off. Jack and his strong-armed pal work leads to discover who’s really behind Jessie’s troubles, and who wants him put away for life.

Beyond Suspicion is a complex crime novel driven by the intensity of one man’s personality. You can’t help but cheer for Jack and sometimes even suspect him. The twists are surprising and cast doubt well. Beyond Suspicion is one of those audio books you can’t turn off. Excellent listen!
