The Black Rose Murder and Other Cases
by Clay Anderson
Jason Justice is a private investigator in San Francisco, involved with several different
cases and not one is in the real forefront throughout The Black Rose Murder. The
cases Jason tries to solve include: trying to catch a man who escaped after embezzling
millions of dollars from a construction project; figuring out if a clown delivered a bomb
to a federal office and did the party girl really get raped by the millionaire?
The Black Rose Murder contains a lot of unnecessary sexual language and cursing
which does take away from the enjoyment. Jason Justice's character adds to the unfortunate
stereotype of African-American men being players and not really caring about the women
that they are with. What this reader was glad to see was that near the end, Jason's character
did try to settle down with one woman. It was also good to see a private investigation
novel containing more than one investigation, which adds to the realism. |
