A Blush With Death
A Bath and Body Mystery, No. 2
by India Ink
Persia Vanderbilt, who sports a tattoo and body piercing, helps her aunt Florence at Venus Envy, the local bath and body
store. They are beginning to have financial troubles since another beauty shop, Bebe's Boutique, moved into town. The
owner, Bebe Wilcox, wants her shop to be at the top and will stop at nothing to reach her aim. She has poisoned the
roses Persia uses for fragrances; has stolen Persia's formula book; has sabotaged Venus Envy's supplies. One of Bebe's
pushy saleswomen is murdered and Persia is afraid of being framed. She is determined to clear her name, so she pretends
to have a falling out with her aunt, and goes to work at Bebe's.
This is a cute, light read with interesting characters. Persia is a strong character. She is smart, tough and loyal.
The story is well written, with witty dialogue and action kept at a steady pace.
Included throughout the story are beauty and spa advice; tips on stress reduction; instructions for blending your own
fragrances and making homemade potpourri. |
