The Book of Fate
by Brad Meltzer
Read by Scott Brick
Wes Holloway is a young and ambitious President’s Aide with a powerful career ahead of him. In six minute's time,
his life is changed forever. It’s 4th of July, President Manning, the First Lady, senior staffer Ron Boyle, a retired
NASCAR driver, and Holloway drive onto Florida NASCAR track and into fate’s path. Two people in the presidential
limousine will be shot down. One will die and the other will be left permanently disabled.
Years later Holloway comes across the dead man in Malaysia. With the help of a friend and a news reporter, Holloway
investigates a living dead man. At the same time the crazed assassin breaks out and heads on a murderous rampage to
fulfill his own agenda. By the end Holloway isn’t sure who to trust and neither is the walking dead man.
It’s a complex read steeped in Masonic history. Listeners can expect action and suspense the Meltzer way. The author
touts himself as an armchair historian. The Masonic and Washington historical background proves him true. It’s a thriller
begging to be shared. Highly recommended.
In the introduction, Meltzer recommends readers take the time to read the documents used as research for The Book of
Fate. After listening to the book, I imagine it would all be quite fascinating. Veteran narrator Scott Brick
reads the audio version. It’s an impressive read, making this audio book worth passing on to your best of friends,
twice over. |
