The Cane Mutiny
A Den of Antiquity Mystery #13

by Tamar Myers

Many antique dealers attend auctions of all kinds in order to find the best things to sell in their stores. Abigail Timberlake Washburn is just one of those dealer/store owners who takes a chance and bids on auction items sight unseen. In The Cane Mutiny, Abigail is the big winner of items found in a storage locker that has been sealed for several years.

In purchasing the locker, she becomes heavily involved in a mystery, especially when she finds that a bag inside the locker contains a skull. Is it human? Where did it come from? Why was it in an old gym bag inside of a storage locker?

Overall, The Cane Mutiny is a subtle mystery where readers will be caught up in the characters and their ongoing new twists and turns for information, and almost forget what Abigail had found that started it all. It is obvious that Ms. Myers has some experience with antique dealers. It is shown through the characterizations of Abigail and the other antique dealers and collectors who are depicted. The mystery is not predictable, which adds to the enjoyment of the story.
