Criminal Investigation Detachment

by Don Bendell

Bobby Samuels is in the Special Forces unit of the United States Army. He loves his job, and his wife, Arianna. Life seems perfect until Arianna is hit by a drunk driver and killed.

Bobby resigns his commission in the Army and becomes a police officer. With the same vigor with which he performed his duties in Special Forces, he begins to remove drunk drivers from American roads. Then comes September 11, 2001, and the attack on the World Trade Center

Bobby wants to be part of the solution, but not in Special Forces. Al Qaeda was a criminal problem as much as it was a military problem. It would require criminal justice answers to implement the military solutions. Thus, when Bobby rejoins the Army, he goes into the Criminal Investigation Detachment.

His enthusiasm for this job is no less than for his civilian police work. He still has a chance to keep drunks off the road, but now he is able to do so much more.

His latest assignment is to find out who is sabotaging military equipment and bombing soldiers in Iraq. Worse yet, there is a possibility that it is a terrorist who has infiltrated the American troops. Added to this, there is someone in the Pentagon leaking information to the media and, it seems, also to the saboteur. Bobby has to find him and stop him before anyone else ends up dead.

Criminal Investigation Detachment is a fascinating story. We know who the saboteur is from the beginning. Watching Bobby find him and the one responsible for the information leak is the thrill ride. The end is both shocking and satisfying. Pick up Criminal Investigation Detachment and enjoy the adventure!
