Deep Sea Dead
Pauline Sokol Mystery #4

by Lori Avocato

Pauline Sokol quit her job as a nurse due to burnout and gets seasick when out on the water. Her boss, Fabio Scarpello, assigns her to investigate an insurance fraud case on a luxury cruise ship, and she has to don a nursing uniform again. Pauline is not alone on the cruise; her parents, uncle, and best friends, Goldie and Miles, decide to join her, despite the fact that Goldie is afraid of crossing the Bermuda Triangle. The mysterious and hunky Jagger is also on the cruise, providing escort services to the single ladies on board. Murder is always on Pauline's heels, and her cabin mate is the unlucky one. Pauline is snooping around trying to figure out the link between a missing nurse, a dead nurse, and insurance fraud. Meanwhile, Jagger has unwanted help keeping Pauline safe.

Deep Sea Dead is another wildly entertaining installment in the Pauline Sokol series. Pauline's parents; her friends, Goldie and Miles, are back and in rare form as they sail the high seas in grand style. In this installment, Jagger has real competition for Pauline's heart, and this adds an interesting twist to the dynamics of their relationship. Deep Sea Dead is a funny and wildly entertaining read that I most highly recommend.
