The
Final Crumpet
A Royal Tunbridge Wells Mystery
by Ron and Janet Benrey
Nigel Owens and Flick Adams, the director and the curator of the Royal Tunbridge Wells
Tea Museum, are thrown into the media spotlight when a body is found in the museum's garden.
Etienne Makepeace, known as Britain's "Tea Sage," disappeared forty years ago. Who knew
he was resting comfortably under the Assam bushes? Unfortunately, the bank that funds
the Tea Museum is not amused by all the attention.
In an effort to save the museum, Nigel and Flick, who are enjoying a budding romance,
must investigate the murder and find out how their famous visitor found his way into their
garden. But as they begin to unravel the mystery, their relationship begins to come apart
as well. A disagreement over an Etienne Makepeace tribute being housed in the museum sets
Nigel and Flick on separate paths. Although they eventually make up, there are many secrets
still to be revealed - and not all of them surround the dear departed Mr. Makepeace.
Written in a rich style reminiscent of Agatha Christie, the Benreys present a satisfying
sequel to the first novel in their Royal Tunbridge Wells Mystery series. Nigel's British
sensibilities play perfectly against Flick's more Americanized spontaneity. They are
the perfect protagonists for this super series.
So...brew a cuppa, put up your feet, and enjoy The Final Crumpet. You'll be
hooked, mate!
