Fine-Feathered Death
A Kendra Ballantyne, Pet-Sitter Mystery #3
by Linda O. Johnston
Kendra Ballantyne is finally back to work as a lawyer, but she hasn't given up her pet-sitting.
Kendra seems to be doing great, as she's also still dating the private investigator, Jeff,
who helped her out when she was going through problems getting her license restored. Like
most lawyers, Kendra is forced to work with an older partner whom she is not thrilled about
working with. So what is Kendra to do when she is working late one evening and is greeted
with shrieks coming from the partner, Ezra Cossner's, office? Kendra approaches and sees
the macaw that was doing the screeching. Also, however, Ezra is murdered. Can Kendra
solve the mystery and prevent the police from thinking that she killed him?
Another good mystery from Ms. Johnston. This reader wishes that more was done with
Gigi, the blue macaw, instead of being focused on training her. The ending was slightly
surprising. At least, this reader did not anticipate who the murderer was. The interesting
twists and turns regarding the list of suspects were well developed. Not one of the better
Pet-Sitter Mysteries, but still worth the read and getting to know more about Kendra's
character. |
