Maddie's friend and assistant, Holly, is getting married. However there is one small problem:
she's already married!
Holly went to her senior prom with Marvin Dubinsky, nerd extraordinaire and Holly's
senior-year tutor. When Marvin confessed that he loved her, she was flattered. She felt
sorry for him and he was kind of cute in a geeky way, so she asked him to the prom. Many
beers later, she awoke to find herself and Marvin wearing matching wedding rings. On the
ride back home, she heard from her mother. While she was gone, she had been called by Griffin
Potecky, hottie extraordinaire! As soon as Marvin pulled up in front her house, Holly
rushed inside to call Griffin. She hasn't heard from her husband since.
Years later, she has now begun to receive emails that threaten her if she doesn't reveal
Marvin's location. She has no clue of how to find him.
Maddie reassures Holly that she will take care of it. In the meantime, it's time for
Holly's bachelorette party. Maddie is a party planner. She has it planned down to the last
detail. It is an all-expense-paid weekend in Hawaii for Holly, her sisters, and her best
friend Liz. Maddie and business partner Wes plan to dutifully accompany the ladies to
make sure all goes well.
Arriving at her hotel, Holly finds a man in her room. She decks him with a lamp and
runs to Maddie for help. When they return to Holly's room there is no man, but there are
bloodstains on the bedspread.
When the ladies return with the hotel manager, the room is spotless-no broken lamp
and no bloodstains.
Trying to recapture the festive mood, the gang attends a luau on the beach. Everything
goes just peachy until a dead body floats up onto the shore!
Could it get any worse? Well, only if a band of thugs shows up looking for poor missing
Marvin!
This book is a lot of fun. The characters are wacky and the mystery intriguing. It is
a really good book!
