For Edgar

by Sheldon Rusch

Imagine carrying out Edgar Allen Poe's short stories and poems. Imagine the horror that you would see. This is the premise of the novel, For Edgar.

Elizabeth Taylor Hewitt, an Illinois state police agent, is trying to solve terrifying murders that are based on Poe's works. She needs to enlist the help of her former lover Scott Gregory -who just happens to be a Poe expert- in order to solve the murders. Will they be able to solve these horrific murders before several more women are killed or injured?

Wow. Just the concept of writing murders based on Poe is an excellent idea. Mr. Rusch does a fantastic job in creating a book with terror, horror, and mystery wrapped up into one package. The environment of an Illinois small town works for the murders based on Poe's writings, but any small town would do. The characterization of Elizabeth Taylor Hewitt is fantastic. People with similar senses of humor can easily pick up on the subtlety and the reader is kept guessing right up until the end.

For a fan of Poe or of a good murder mystery, For Edgar should be a consideration.
