Hung out to Die
A Stain-Busting Mystery
by Sharon Short
Stain expert Josie Toadfern wished she had not been maneuvered by her friends and cousin
into having Thanksgiving dinner with the Toadfern clan. For twenty-two years, they had
all ignored her after her father ran off and her mother put her in an orphanage. Josie
knew it was the old woman Mamaw Toadfern telling the family what to do, even pretending
Josie did not exist, as they had all done for a year. Now she is suddenly invited to
Thanksgiving dinner. Josie cannot help but wonder what is going on.
Josie is in for more surprises as her wayward parents show up for the dinner. With
her father and uncle constantly fussing throughout the whole meal, Josie leaves early.
Meeting an old friend later seems like the thing to do until they come upon the body of her Uncle.
Hung Out to Die had me in stitches. I have never laughed so much while reading
a mystery and I loved every minute of it. I just could not put this book down. Ms. Short
proves what a sence of humor she has in this magnificently written story, which will keep
readers completely entertained from cover to cover. |
