The Last Templar

by Raymond Khoury

Raymond Khoury is a wonderful storyteller and a master instructor concerning the three most powerful religions of the world. He starts with a visit to Acre in Israel, in the year 1291, and he describes the fall of the city to the Saracens and how they conquered The Accursed Tower. He then brings history forward to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York with a visit to all the great artworks of the Vatican. And following that there begins a chase to find the secret of the Templars, from the years immediately following the death of Jesus Christ, to the promise and future of the Catholic Church. Read this book if you have ever wanted to know more about any of those monumental events in world history and the history of the Church. This book takes you on a journey much like The Da Vinci Code and, along the same lines, develops a story that will not let you put the book down except to sleep, perchance to dream...

The Last Templar is a story of curiosity and deception that is worldwide and history ridden. Aimard of Villers and Martin of Carmaux are the last out of Acre before the collapse in the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem in 1291. They board a ship called the Falcon Temple and disappear into the depths of the Mediterranean Sea within a matter of hours, taking a secret with them. However, with determination and perseverance, they survive along with seven others with a mission to fulfill; they must deliver a document to the other Templar Knights in Paris. And though their journey could have changed history, it reaches its climax too late to accomplish its mission. When the Vatican offers to let the most prominent American museum open its treasures to the public for a first look, there is one more chance to change the course of history. The race is on to find the document that was lost so long ago, in a remote part of the Turkish lands and Greek islands. Read this book. It is an eye-opening romp through history's facts and fiction. If you are a fan of The Da Vinci Code or Secrets of The Widow's Son, you will love this book. Khoury is a fantastic writer and has a great future awaiting him, and here's hoping that he will follow this book with something just as interesting.
