Our Girl in Washington
A Kate Boothe Novel #2
by Michele Mitchell
Kate Boothe's Washington DC political consultancy is at a low ebb. She and her partner,
Jack Vanzelli, are overjoyed to take on the powerful Essex Group Investment Firm. They
badly need the business.
Kate jets to Paris for a briefing with members of the group. While there, she meets an
old friend, TV journalist John Jaures, who reveals that he is close to breaking an incriminating
investigation about the Essex Group. Shortly after she returns to Washington, she learns
that Jaures' body has been fished out of the Seine. She believes that his death is connected
to his investigation of the Essex Group. She picks up his investigation and finds high-level
payoffs, arms deals, and politicking over oil. Kate and Jack find themselves facing the same
fate as Jaures.
This breezy international adventure is a fast read, with a glamorous consultant (Kate) and
a dashing partner (Jack). Kate is a smart, knowledgeable and saucy heroine. The plot is entertaining
and enjoyable, written by one who has knowledge of life in the political arena. |
