A Question of Murder
Murder She Wrote #25
by Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain
In Murder She Wrote: A Question of Murder, Jessica Fletcher is attending a writer's
conference at the historic Mohawk House located in the Berkshires. Jessica's friends,
Laurence and Melinda Savoy, who manage a theatrical troupe, are preparing an interactive
murder-mystery play as part of the entertainment provided at the conference. While watching
the actors practice, Jessica has no idea that the rehearsal she is watching will result
in a murder that is all too real. Detective Dwayne Ladd is in charge of the investigation
but he asks for Jessica's help because this is his first homicide case. A competition
rages between the other mystery writers in attendance to solve the case before Jessica.
The good news is that a winter storm has dumped an incredible amount of snow; the roads
are impassible so the murderer who cannot escape is most likely one of the guests, actors
or employees stuck in the Mohawk House. In addition, Mohawk House is known to have a
resident ghost who may have been joined by the spirit of the dead actor.
Fans of the Murder She Wrote series on television will easily
be able to imagine seeing Angela Lansbury snooping around the historic
mansion gathering clues to the whodunit. Murder She Wrote: A
Question of Murder, is a fun read that I found to be light and
entertaining.
