The Reunion
by Sue Walker
In 1977, several disturbed teenagers find themselves in a psychiatric hospital in a place
known as the "Unit". Many years later one of them finds that their past has come back to
haunt them. Whatever bonded them into a code of secrecy and a yearly letter on November
the 8th has resurfaced and is beginning to claim some of them in the form of murders and
so-called suicides.
Innes was one of the innocent victims of some of the other's actions while in the "Unit".
When she receives a puzzling phone call after 26 years from another member, she fears to
return the call as it sets off bad memories for her. She then begins to search for the
truth when she hears of the caller's suicide.
I found this book to have a lot of long, disturbing and winding roads that eventually
lead to what really happened. If Innes can discover the truth about the "Unit" and the
truth about what is happening to the others perhaps she can survive and put her own demons
to rest. |
