The Thomas Berryman Number

by James Patterson
Read by Will Patton

Thomas Berryman is a non-mob hit man. He refers to his hits by numbers instead of names. In the storyline, listeners are taken back and forth in his career as a killer. Oaks is a reporter looking to write a book. He visits a man in a mental institution who seems to know more about the murder of a black political figure than anyone. It’s the first time Oaks hears the name Thomas Berryman. Oaks takes the information and runs - headlong into the middle of it all.

The Thomas Berryman Number is a reprint. It’s Patterson’s award-winning debut novel. As in his present novels, the suspense is there, and so is the complex storyline, but at some points it does get confusing.

The audio version is a quick listen, but fair warning there are some confusing moments with the altering timelines. Be prepared to hit replay. Actor Will Patton narrates the audio book version and does a tremendous job. Patton is best know for The Mothman Prophecies, Remember the Titians, and the TV show The Agency, Remember those headsets.
