To The Power of Three
by Laura Lippman
The story begins with a school shooting. Not the random act that one associates with a school shooting, but a
deliberate act in a bathroom between three girls who have been friends since they were little. Now here they are at
the end of senior year, one is dead, one is dying, and one knows the truth.
A carefully woven story of friendship, you see them from the time they are in the third grade till the tragic
shooting. What brought them together and what will tear them apart is between the pages. Kat the girl who dies,
Perri, the girl who is accused of shooting her, and Josie the one who really knows what happened. Can the police
break the silence and discover the real truth? Will Alexa, the school guidance counselor, be able to get through to
the teenage girls she counsels?
This is a well-written suspense novel that is hard to put down. It makes you ponder the power of friendship as well
as the level to which situations may escalate, over things we may or may not understand. |
