Under Pressure
An Underwater Investigation #4

by Kathy Brandt

It all started when a small airplane crashed in the waters near Detective Hannah Sampson's boat. Quickly Detective Hannah and her partner Jimmy are in the waters pulling out survivors and bodies alike.

Hannah finds herself wrapped in a political murder mystery, trying to understand why someone would take down a plane of British Virgin Island tourists. The list of suspects continues to mount, including a suspicious politician.

Can Hannah and her department solve this mystery before the dreaded hurricane approaches and makes the situation worse? Another great mystery from Ms. Brandt. The characterization of Detective Hannah continues to develop and shows some great writing.

Hannah's personal life is more developed and faces several changes in Under Pressure, which makes readers feel that she is human, rather than just a character in a book. There was not a lot about underwater diving other than the initial rescue, which was a little disappointing, considering Ms. Brandt's previous books; but this does not take away from the enjoyment of this great mystery read. A definite must-read for any mystery or underwater fan.
