The Bourne Betrayal
Jason Bourne #5
by Eric Van Lustbader, Robert
Ludlum
Read by Jeremy Davidson
Wow,
this one starts off with a punch and just keeps exploding. It is
a treat for the senses. In order to follow it you must be an avid
Jason Bourne follower. I would suggest you read the previous Bourne
books or listen to the previous audios to help put everything in
perspective. I have seen all the movies and still had to acquaint
myself with the final scenes of the last intrigue to catch up to
speed again. Of course the movies do not do the books justice but
if you are pressed for time, they will suffice to help you in the
understanding of the future novels.
Jason
Bourne’s character is plagued by memories which continually
have him questioning his own identity. Robert Ludlum’s The
Bourne Betrayal by Eric Van Lustbader is the follow-up to the
The Bourne Legacy by the same author. It leaves Bourne
fighting the war on terror while fighting his own inner torment.
In the Bourne Series, Jason Bourne is a spy who must unravel the
attempt of Islamic terrorists to destroy America. This one begins
with Jason Bourne seeking psychiatric help and attempting to rescue
his only friend in the CIA, Martin Lindros, who disappeared in Africa.
Helicopters, bullets flying, and crashing scenes suck the listener
into the action quickly in the beginning minutes of this audio tale
and keep you there as it unravels.
This
audio packs a powerful and intense story with good character voice
separation, which really helps during the tricky dialogue. I was
driving when I started the first CD and found it a little too intense
to follow and watch the road. I would suggest you do nothing else
but listen.
Try
the orignial Bourne trilogy: The Bourne Identity, The Bourne
Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum.
