Ever Present Danger

by Kathy Herman

Ivy Griffith saw something her senior year of high school that would change her life forever. Had she not been on drugs at the time, she might have been able to stop her three best friends from killing a fellow student with their bare hands. To make matters worse, all four of them decided that they would make a pact and adhere to it for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately, someone else might have found out what happened that day almost ten years earlier.

Let's skip ahead to the present. Ten years have passed and Ivy finally comes home, after being gone and not even staying in contact with her family. She arrives with a sick elderly lady and a seven-year old boy in tow. You see Ivy has been in and out of drug rehab for the last ten years and she finally wants to clean up her life and become a part of society. This book will cover the struggles that she must endure in order to get her life back on track, but I am not going to tell you how she does that or what happens along the way. Keep reading--you won't be disappointed!

I have never read any of Kathy Herman's books, but I have to tell you, I couldn't put this one down! It’s well written, moves extremely fast, and makes you want to continue on until the end. I applaud her use of the written word! I can't wait to read the second book in the Phantom Hollow series. Is it October yet!
