Meeting Point

by Roisin McAuley

CSI investigator Claire Watson takes a holiday to the French Riviera with her young son and her friend and her son. There she meets John Rock to whom she is immediately attracted. But she has a feeling that they have met before. She has memories of what is now a COLD CASE.

These memories surface from a decade ago of a woman whose body was found at the bottom of a cliff in Northern Ireland. It looked like suicide but clues suggest murder. Her enigmatic husband is suspected. He is the beneficiary of a large insurance policy.

There was no proof and the case remains unsolved. Now Claire comes face to face with the husband and is unable to determine whether he is the murderer and is about to strike again with another woman. She has mixed feelings, trying to decide his guilt or innocence against her deep attraction.

This is an excellent romantic suspense story. The plot is well constructed with believable and pleasant characters. The bonds of friendship are strengthened by the problems Claire has shared with her friend. The dilemma Claire faces is a constant source of suspense. Here is a page turner with an element of romance. An added bonus are the glimpses of the Irish countryside and the fabulous South of France. An ideal companion for an afternoon of relaxation.
