Murder...Sucide...Whatever...

by Gwen Freeman

In Murder...Suicide...Whatever... the writing is skillful with well developed characters that are delightful and fun. A good plot, compelling dialog, and fun characters make this a splendid mystery novel. Gwen Freeman puts together a story that will keep you guessing until the very end. Immensely entertaining!

Bosco unexpectedly shows up on Fifi's doorstep with six pieces of matching Gucci luggage, announcing that Uncle Ted was murdered. Bosco is Fifi's free-loading half-brother whom she hadn't seen in five years. And they don't have an Uncle Ted. Okay, so it's a courtesy title for a friend of the family - Bosco's family that is.

Ted Heffernan, an insurance broker at Obermeyer & Schlefly, is found dead in his office. Bosco finagles Fifi into investigating "Uncle Ted's" death. It's presumed he died of natural causes but Eddie, who worked with Ted, doesn't believe that for a second. Turns out a lot of people have a lot of reasons to do away with good ole "Uncle Ted." With property taxes due on her house and no money in the bank, Fifi, being caught between a rock and a hard place, decides to go along with Bosco's plan and pretend to be a private investigator.

The investigation starts off on a sour note, with Fifi receiving a death threat in the mail written in block letters with a black magic marker. It was at this point she hesitated and was tempted to bow out of this whole matter, but the tax due notice was still hanging on the refrigerator, staring her in the face, so she plowed on.

Fifi and Bosco pretend to be grief counselors at Obermeyer & Schlefly, thus giving them the opportunity to question all of "Uncle Ted's" fellow workers without them even knowing they're being questioned at all.

Things go from bad to worse for Fifi and Bosco, with one problem right after another, but being the trooper's they are they persevere. And in the end their perseverance pays off.
