Night Life

by Thomas Petty

Female serial killer Tanya Starling began her killing spree in Portland, Oregon with the murder of Dennis Poole, the cousin of mobster Hugo Poole, who hires Joe Pitt, a retired D.A. Investigator, to find Dennis’ killer.

Detective Sergeant Catharine Hobbes is also investigating Dennis’ murder and finds a trail of dead bodies in Tanya’s wake.

Tanya uses her beauty and wits to survive. She’s a chameleon who changes her name, her looks, and locale when the need arises. She travels from San Francisco to Los Angeles, Flagstaff and back to Portland with Hobbes hot on her trail, leaving dead bodies along her path. Returning to Portland, Tanya assumes the identity of Hobbes, who has been hot on her trail and who she is determined to kill.

This is the story of two beautiful women in battle with each other. The chapters are narrated from both Hobbes’ and Tanya’s perspectives, giving an in-depth insight into the minds of both. The compelling story is full of suspense, leaving the reader in doubt as too the eventual outcome until the final confrontation.
