Poison Pen
A Claudia Rose Mystery No. 1
by Sheila Lowe
When
Lindsay Alexander, Hollywood publicist, is found dead in her Jacuzzi
with a suicide note on the floor, the police rule the death as a suicide.
Forensic handwriting analysist, Claudia Rose, divorced and pushing
40, is asked by Lindsay's partner, Ivan, to investigate her death.
He claims her death is murder since Lindsay had so many enemies.
As Claudia searches for a sample of Lindsay's print
writing for analysis to compare with the suicide note, she uncovers
many shocking facts about Lindsay and the business she was running
on the side. There are many rich and powerful people who don't want
this to be known. Claudia's search for the proof of Lindsay's murder
is complicated by her attraction to Joel Jovanic, the detective
investigating Linsay's death. He is skeptical about the value of
Claudia's handwriting analysis.
This is a well written story with intriguing characters.
Claudia is presented as intelligent, resourceful and independent.
The suspense is constant, the action rapid. The handwriting analysis
throughout the book is fascinating. The information about handwriting
in the story fits well within the story. The reader may begin to
wonder just what his (or her) handwriting may reveal.
