Jake Landry, junior executive of Hammond Aerospace Corporation in California, has a challenging career in
aerospace engineering. While his superior is out of town Jake is sent as a substitute to a retreat / business
meeting of top executives held at a remote hunting lodge in British Columbia. The lodge is surrounded by
thousands of miles of wilderness. The execs are allowed no cell phones, no cars, and no means of communication.
The Hammond Aerospace CEO, Cherly Tobin, is looking for more than a meeting. She suspects crooked dealings among
her senior staff. Her assistant is Ali Hillman, Jake's ex-girl friend. Tobin wants Hillman, with Landry's
assistance, to spy on them.
During the opening night dinner the lodge is invaded by a violent paramilitary group which demands hundred of
millions of dollars, and if necessary will murder some of the hostages. Landry becomes suspicious of the true
identity and purpose of the group. The group has too much knowledge of the lodge and has military issue fire
power. It becomes a race between the invaders and Landry and Ali to find a solution to this terrifying situation.
This is an electrifying novel that might well be tomorrow's headlines. The action is fast-paced, violent and
suspenseful. The characters are true to life, especially the executives who will do anything to protect
themselves. The background of the British Columbia countryside is vividly portrayed and the reader will feel the
isolation and desperation of the characters. There is some aerospace technical talk, which the reader can skip
without affecting the enjoyment of the story.
An exciting, breathtaking book not to be missed.... |
