Secret Sins
Reverend Callie Anson series #2

by Kate Charles

Secret Sins is the second in a new series featuring Reverend Callie Anson. Taking place in England, the story features the pressures and modern day problems a woman in the clergy might face. Callie becomes involved with a parishioner who is in need of her help both professionally and on a personal level. Callie faces pressure from the Vicar’s wife, having a boyfriend who is also a policeman, and a gay brother.

The murder of a young father-to-be, as well as the disappearance of the parishioner’s granddaughter, weave an element of suspense and lurking evil throughout the story. Callie must deal with her own level of discomfort over a lost love and a new love who seems to be keeping her a secret from his family. Meanwhile, Callie is also dealing with her brother suddenly moving in and disrupting her life.

While there are many story roads throughout this book, eventually they lead to acceptable - if not surprising - endings. The author takes a look into Internet predators as well as the dark side of love and family. Secret Sins is an out of the ordinary read.
