Slip & Fall

by Nick Santora

Nick Santora is a Writer and Co-Executive Producer of television's hit show Prison Break. Slip & Fall is Nick Santora's first novel. It is an excellent first novel and I look forward to reading many more books by this author.

Slip & Fall is a well-written novel with good character development. It held my attention from beginning to end and it's impossible to put down once you've started reading it.

Slip & Fall also gives the reader a lot to think about and shows how easy it can be to "Slip & Fall", and make wrong decisions and how they can spiral totally out of control beyond your wildest imagination. The "causation" effect indeed.

Robert R. Principe, ESQ., Attorney at Law, opens a private law office above Morelli's Deli in Bensonhurst, at the corner of eighteenth and seventy-first, just a few blocks from where he grew up. Rob comes from an honest, hardworking family whose grandparents had immigrated to New York from Italy.

Rob has been practicing law for eight years now and things just aren't going well. He has few clients and no money coming in. His wife, Janine, becomes pregnant with their first child, causing Rob to feel even more stressed over finances. Treading water financially for years and heavily in debt, with a baby on the way and behind in mortgage payments, Rob is desperate and scared. He makes a decision he wishes he never had.

Rob's cousin Jackie Masella is nothing but a thief, a gangster, and a thug. He also works for mob boss Louie Turro of the well-known Turro crime family.

Rob makes an unethical decision to participate in a one-time insurance scam. The ramifications of this one decision spiral catastrophically out of control. There is no turning back; there is no unringing of this bell. Plagued with guilt, Rob finds himself falling deeper and deeper into this abyss of crime, constantly searching for a way out. How do you break a deal with the mob and walk away with your life? Or do you?
