To Love and Die in Dallas
by Mary Elizabeth Goldman
David Matthews, prominent criminal lawyer, is given the diary of Annie Williams by Dallas socialite, Roberta
"Butter" Dempsey. The diary tells of Annie's friendship with high school classmate, Lindsay Wilson, beginning in
the 1950's, with unwed pregnancies and broken hearts. Lindsay is the unhappy wife of U S Senator James Buddy
Mtchell and the secret lover of Francis Zachaias, Greek entrepreneur who owns a popular restaurant.
Lindsay's sudden death shocks Dallas and reunites the former classmates, Annie, David, and Roberta. David had
previously dated Annie, Roberta and Lindsay, and had recently married Taylor for the third time. Shortly after
giving David the diary, Roberta turns up murdered in his office. Taylor is the prime suspect. Dallas homicide
detective, Jake Malone, must solve Roberta's murder as well as the untimely and now suspicious death of Lindsay.
This is a mystery with many twists and turns and with a cast of real life characters. Life in Dallas both past
and present is woven into the intriguing history of these friends. It is a story uncovering their secrets and
the ramifications of their secrets. |
